Ruby, Rails, CSS, XHTML | What to do first?
In my work, I am project manager for a web-based app and I’ve been working with outsourced developers for a while now and continually keep running into communication issues ranging from ‘me not being able to adequately describe what i want’ to ‘developers entirely missing what we’re wanting to do’. Which, inevitably, leaves me wanting to just do it myself. So...

Bausch and Lomb wants to blind me?!
Sometimes I get told by my friends that I have a semi-charmed life because often times things fall my way. But they don’t often see STUFF LIKE THIS! So how in the hell is it that with only about 50 choices at the grocery store to get contact solution we happen to use the EXACT BRAND that is being recalled. I noticed that I had been getting a little more ‘sleep’ in my eye in...

Useful delicious usage or a bit stalker-ish?
So since I’ve now converted all my bookmarks over to del.icio.us I’ve started bookmarking more, for one, but also I’ve picked up a technique to start bookmarking other peoples delicious bookmarks. Essentially, creating what my father likes to call a DO loop. So I’m using a bookmark site to bookmark other’s profiles from the same bookmark site. Odd eh? My original...

Google's New Calendar is Live!
I’m once again amazed at the quickness of the Internet. I was perusing my RSS feeds in Netvibes and saw an article about the new Google Calendar finally being released tonight. So I was like, “OK, what the hell, I’ll see if it’s up.” Went to the site, no luck. Went back to looking through digg.com and saw another article about Google CL2 just launched? Confused, I...

Netvibes got an update!
I spoke awhile back about Netvibes and it’s greatness. I’ve been using it for months now and I still definitely think it is better than the Google IG page BUT with both of these options it started to become a bit of a beating having to organize all my RSS feeds all on one page. Well, netvibes came out w/ a new update late last week to resolve it. Multiple tabs! So I’ve split...

Mini Mac Mini Update
So we’ve gotten a chance to both play w/ our new Mac Mini and so far it seems to be pretty good. It’s weird for me to be in front of a machine and feel out of my element. Took me a bit to figure out how to manuever and where things are, which I’m still figuring out. Some questions have already come up such as: - OK, so are Mac’s supposed to somewhat delayed response...

You got what?!
Yeah, so don’t hate but Jenny totally surprised me with a new toy last night. I got home from my softball game (where I claimed the anti-MVP award) and said she left me a note on my computer. So I went to it and it was a sweet little note from her. So I was beginning to walk off and she said, “I left something on your computer screen, too. So, turn it on!” So I did and there...

My wife, the l33t haX0r! Who knew?
Let me backup a second here and remind those that come by that my wife is a 4th grade teacher. When she started out at this school she was bummed at the fact that she couldn’t check her Gmail account from school due to the school’s disallowing of those “personal websites”. Well, a while back I noticed that she had started sending me emails from her Gmail account during...
