Addiction is a horrible thing.
Yes, that’s right, I have an addiction.
Not to the normal things like cigarettes, coffee, working out, or crack. I’m addicted to tech.
I find myself constantly going through my RSS feeds to learn or see the latest/greatest in all things tech. Anything from mp3 players to cell phones to the latest graphics cards. The list goes on and on, it’s a sickness. Thankfully, my addiction is mainly lusting over such products because my pocket book can’t keep up with actually getting them all. However, I am definitely an early adopter in some ways. (Ie. Was the 1st person I knew with a RAZR and yes, I drop $450 on it since I was still in my two-year subscription window….punks)
To give you a brief glimpse of what I’m talking about let me give you a brief idea of what things go through my head. WARNING: I’m nuts about this stuff. I will do this in subconscious typing form to add to the effect. ;)
Let’s see here what does Brad want to buy today? Well, I already have an Creative Zen Micro mp3 player but with all my music and podcasts I completely filled it up the other day. So since I won some cash at the casinos for my vacation maybe I’ll upgrade it to the the Creative Zen Vision: M that is coming out in the 2nd quarter of this year. Bigger harddrive, color, what else could you ask for. But if I did that I wouldn’t be able to buy my smartphone purchase that I want to do. Hmmm, what do I want to do there, either the Q or the 700w. Since I have Cingular I’m going to have to wait a while if I want the Motorola Q or the Treo 700w since they aren’t coming out on Cingular first, nazi Verizon bastards. I think I’ll go with the Motorola Q though since it’s going to be so much thinner and can easily fit in my pocket. Oh the choices! I also wanted to possible pickup a Nintendo DS for a while to play Mario Kart on it but I decided against that once I saw the new Sony PSP, but I shouldn’t be playing games more than I already am so I nixed that idea real quickly. Speaking of computer games, I just got World of Warcraft and man it’s fun to play. Not going crazy with it like some people do but I do like it. Which reminds me, I need to get the new version of Battlefield 2 : Special Forces for the upcoming LAN party. So much good tech out there and not enough money to buy it all!
COUGH! Whoa, excuse me, I think I just blacked out there for a second. ;)
See, I tried to warn you!
