After a lengthy scour of the Internet which easily lasted a couple of weeks total I finally got everything to work.

The answer? A weak one…reverted back to next oldest version. But, of course, at that point I couldn’t activate any plugins so I had to hunt for that fix too. I think everything is working now on the frontend and admin side so I’m going to leave it as it is for a while.

At least updating Wordpress anyway, I’m tired, going to bed…happy.
