SXSW - Almost done
Well I’m sitting here, Tuesday, waiting on the keynote presentation and reflecting on how i thought the festival went.
This whole festival was a definite plus for me and I got to talk/meet to some real cool people and learned quite a bit. In my line of work, it’s rare for me to run into people my age. So when I came and saw 95% of people here are my age it’s cool to see what they’re are doing, how they are making their mark, and how succesful some of them are becoming already.
One thing I really dug about this festival is just how open and friendly everyone was. I ran into some people that I have been following for a long time now. Some I got a chance to talk to, some I didn’t. Here’s a list of a few:
Gina Trappelina from Lifehacker.com
Robert Scoble of MS blog/Channel 9 News fame
Harry Knowles of Ain’titcoolnews.com
Craig Newmark of craigslist.org fame.
Shaun Inman from Mint
Josh and Chris from The Web 2.0 Show podcast.
and a more I can’t remember.
Anyways, the whole festival was definitely worth it to me and my wife wants to join me next year. I think I’m going to have my co-workers join me next year too, b/c it definitely gets you to open your mind to how the world gets a little smaller each day.
Off topic: Look over at the sidebar where I have the Odeo *Send me an Odeo* link. click it, and leave a voice recording for me! Mic required obviously.
