Rails : I ain’t a developer, is it worth my time?
So i’ve been talking in previous posts about the possibility of trying out Ruby on Rails for some of the web app ideas I have. Well, tonight was the 1st, well 2nd, step towards that. (The 1st being I purchased Agile Web Development with Rails.) I went over to a Refresh Dallas meetup where Adam Keys gave a speech about Rails and showed some uses of it. The presentation was good and I was happy to note that even though it’s been years since I’ve been in a Comp. Sci. class I was still keeping up due to the hour or so of research I’ve done. I didn’t really meet anyone, well except I talked a bit to Adam himself after the meeting but I wasn’t really there to socialize either. I’m pretty excited and want to learn….where was this in school!
So what now? Waiting for my damn book to arrive and I think I’m ready. I’m sure I’ll be making the poor people that view this site test out some projects and see what they think, should be fun. Stay tuned.
