Geek Celebrities under 30

Sure, geek celebrities have existed for a long while now.

Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, all these people have maked their place in history. But who’s next? Who are the next upcoming geek celeb’s that don’t necessarily have boatloads of cash but are making an impact on the Internet today and will for more years to come? I decided to compile a list of who’s the best up and coming under 30. See if you agree:

[tag]Kevin Rose[/tag] - Former co-host of ‘The Screensavers’ on TechTV and created the community news site digg.com that has, in a little less than two years, become a success.

[tag]David Heinemeier Hansson[/tag] - the Ruby on Rails framework creator and partner at one of the hottest web companies currently running, 37signals.

[tag]Matt Mullenweg[/tag] - The number 1 listing on Google under ‘Matt’ this young inventor of the popular open-source blogging software, Wordpress, he’s taken the ‘Net by storm. In 2005, founded the company Automattic.

[tag]Paul Scrivens[/tag] - Founder of the ever popular 9rules network of blogs, he continues to make his mark with his unabashed postings and his dance moves.

[tag]Threadless[/tag] boys - IMO, these guys kick ass! ‘The three J’s’ AKA Jake, Jacob, & Jeffrey took this idea of selling t-shirts online to a whole other level. They have created a great community of people that like unique shirts design and help continue the community by designing shirts for the site. And threadless pays the artist if their design is selected.

Pseudo-celeb but:
Fatal1ty - AKA [tag]Johnathan Wendel[/tag] is consider one of the 1st professional gamers in the world. He’s got hardware companies using his handle in their products and people are paying him just to come and play games with him. I dunno, I like games, and maybe it’s jealously, but this seems like a tool.

I think it will be interesting to see how these guys change or hopefully, not change, as the years go on. What are your thoughts? Who did I miss?
