Motorola Q vs. Cingular 8125 | The Battle

Moto Q

VS.

Cingular 8125

Alright, first things first, I’m a Cingular user. Can’t switch, won’t switch, too many friends and family on Cingular with me to switch and not capitalize on free mobile-to-mobile and start running up my minutes.

Now, with that said, I’ve been waiting on the Motorola Q since they were calling it the ‘Razrberry’ and have been keeping up with when it was coming out through Engadget and Gizmodo, what features it was going to have, how thin it is going to be, etc. Now, of course, my luck strikes and Verizon has gotten 6-month exclusivity rights on it so it looks like I got at least another 6 months to wait, which BLOWS.

So I’ve know that for about 4-5 months now and with me never being satisfied with my own gadgets I started contemplating finding an alternative smartphone to satisfy my desires. So I started looking at Cingular approved smartphones.

The only one that has really caught my eye so far is the Cingular 8125. I really want something with Windows Mobile 5 on it so I can sync up everything I have to it and will get the ‘push email’ from my Exchange server without the need of a Blackberry server (or service that will charge you to do it). I have played around with it a few times and I think it’s cool, has good features but man, THAT THANG IS HUGE! And I like a phone (using a Razr now) that will fit in my pocket.

Tangent: I’m not the type of guy that hangs shit from his belt, ok? I liken it to the modern-day pocket protector. Handy? Perhaps. But for the medium amount of style I do have I don’t want it negated with a brick phone attached to my hip!

Phew, better…

Alright, so the ‘Q’ is perfect for me, right? It’ll fit in my pocket, give me the features i’ll need, seems to be the whole package. And then I got some news yesterday, from a buddy of mine, that it doesn’t come with a stylus. Wait, no stylus? Is that even a big deal? I wouldn’t think so but if you have to thumb scroll through everything, especially menus and webpages, it could be a B-E-A-T beatdown.

So I’m stuck now, should I wait for the Q anyway? Or get an 8125? Or say screw both of these and go with something else.

If anybody uses any of these items or has something that might be a better alternative or me, let me know in the comments.

UPDATE: The decision has been made.
