RightCart.com Test Drive
At work, we are trying to figure out an effective way to easily manage the credit card payment processing for our web project. We are currently “trying” to use Paypal but they require the paying customer to have an account and it seems to be a pain to a lot of people. So I’ve been looking around for awhile at the different e-commerce web app’s to see if they, by some chance, could help us out. I’ve signed up for beta tests @ Blinksale, Shopify, and now Rightcart to see if they could help us.
These services, currently, seem to be slanted towards a one-time purchase product environment. As the user, you find the product you want, add to your cart, checkout, and you’re done. Blinksale is getting closer but they don’t do anything in regards to the credit card processing part, you have to use a 3rd party vendor. Well this won’t work for us. Our web product is setup to be a recurring monthly service for users. Join when they want, cancel when they want.
Well, I often times submit these ideas to these vendors to hopefully get a product like we’re looking for but often, never get a response…that is, until this past Friday. After requesting an email from them about setting up a service, I actually received an email from the guys @ Rightcart.com:
Brad,
Second request for this—can we contact you to see what your specific needs are? We love developing features that satisfy immediate demand.

I was stoked to see people some companies are paying attention to the end users and I told them ‘Absolutely!’ to contact me. On Saturday, I received a call from Jonathan and we talked for about 15-20 minutes about what I was looking for and how they may be able to incorporate that into their product. By the end of the conversation, they said they were going to try and create something like I wanted, by this week sometime, and having me beta test it for them.
I’ll let you guys know how it goes but the fact they are making the effort is saying something to me already.
