My New Goal | No TV for a month
I’ve been doing some self-reflection lately and I wanted to post another one of my goals that is going to start tomorrow. I’ve heard of people giving up television before so it’s by no means nothing new, but for me, it will be tough. I would definitely categorize myself as a bit of a TV junkie. I try and keep up with ‘my shows’ and easily take an hour or two of my time a night. So I’ve decided to give it all up for the next 30 days. My hope is to be able to focus on things that are far more important and far better for me. My main examples would be my family, my health, my work, and hopefully get some perspective on things.
For a while now, I’ve wanted to dive into Rails development and “haven’t had the time.” Well, I’m giving myself the time now! No excuses. I also want to focus more on a better, more consistent workout routine. It’s easy to overlook my workouts when I’m vegging in front of the TV all night long.
So, wish me luck, I’ll post updates as we go but I’m little nervous about it actually, not sure how it’ll go.
Note: The only exception I’m making to the ‘No-TV for a month’ rule are DVD’s on the weekends with my wife. Since we have a 3 week old and can’t leave the house easily, it’s the closest thing we have to a date night.
